James A. Williams re-elected as General President of IUPAT
In a unanimous vote of the 2009 IUPAT General Convention, James A. Williams was re-elected to a five-year term to lead the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) into the future. The convention theme: Change – makes you stronger was the promise that General President Williams conveyed as he drew up a five-year plan for our union. “The IUPAT is poised for growth,” said Williams. Also re-elected was the General Executive Board including General Vice President Kenneth Rigmaiden, General Secretary-Treasurer George Galis, and General Vice Presidents William Candelori, Robert Kucheran, Raymond Price III, and Raymond Sesma. Upon his acceptance, General Vice President Rigmaiden stated his two important goals are to keep improving organizing and training. He reminded the audience that organizing brings in members, but it is training that keeps them in our union. Once again, Congratulations to General President Williams and to the General Executive Board!
