Drywall Tapers Finishers LU1944 – Giving Back to the Ewa Community
Every Wednesday night, the Tapers Apprenticeship Program conducts a 5-hour class at Honolulu Community College. However, Instructors John Frigillana, Stanley Fernandez and Mario Manrique decided that training for the month of September would include hands-on experience in a real life setting and at the same time give back to the community. Working in conjunction with other trades, the Tapers are helping to renovate an old plantation house which will be the new home to Iwalani Tseu’s Women’s Support Center. This retreat will be a gathering place for women in need of healing, respite and support. When completed, the Tapers’ apprentices would have gifted approximately 100 man hours of work and also provided a new safe haven for many women in need. A huge MAHALO to the Tapers apprenticeship class for their hard work and outstanding job in giving back to the Ewa community!
