State of the Union Message from Lynn Kinney
DC50 Business Manager/Secretary-Treasurer
Change for the Good of All
New Structure. New Strength.
Stop, Look and Listen.
Don’t be fooled. The recession is far from over. Yes, there’s been a temporary pick up in work. It’s not falling from the sky. We’re fighting for every single job. We need you to join us.
It’s January. It’s a new year. It’s an election year. Let’s get down to business.
Last year, we embraced Barack Obama’s message of hope. After what the Bush Administration did to destroy our economy, however, it will take more than Hope alone to put our members to work. It will take a strong union with a strong voice backed up by strong union members.
There is no way – and no reason – to sugarcoat it. The economy is bad. Jobs are hard to come by, and the jobs we do have are ones we negotiated in Project Labor Agreements three years ago.
